Chapter One

I have recently viewed three videos Doll Face by Andy Huang, Girl Chewing Gum by John Smith and koyaanisqatsi by Godfrey Reggio.
Girl Chewing Gum doesn't use a lot of technology its just camera and later on a voice over is added and in girl chewing gum its just a camera. Both video's have a similar concepts because there both about how the media influence people. Doll face is about how a pretty face on the TV causes people to be brain washed and want to be the same. Girl Chewing Gum is how the guy in the video made up that a man had robbed the local post office knowing that he hadn't but its causes us to believe what he says.
Girl Chewing Gum and Koyaanisqatsi a both very different because Girl Chewing Gum is a very old video and didn't take a lot of time or effort to make but when the film was created the technology to them at the time wasn't considered old where was koyaanisqatsi involved a lot of camera work and they used helicopter to show the buildings collapsing. Koyaanisqatsi was recently made where as Girl Chewing Gum is an old video so its also a difference between new and old. Ones in black and white and the other is in colour this helps to show the difference in time.
